How to file a case in a consumer court in India, you need to follow the steps  below:

Determine the appropriate consumer court: There are three levels of consumer courts in India, depending on the value of the claim. The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum is for claims up to Rs. 20 lakh, the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission is for claims between Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 1 crore, and the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission is for claims exceeding Rs. 1 crore.

Prepare the complaint: The complaint is the document that outlines the details of the case and the relief sought. It should include the following details:

1-The name and address of the complainant and opposite party

2-The details of the product or service in question

3-The date of purchase and the amount paid

4-The nature of the complaint and the relief sought

5-Attach relevant documents: The complaint should be accompanied by copies of relevant documents, such as the purchase receipt, warranty card, service agreement, etc. Submit the complaint: The complaint should be submitted to the appropriate consumer court along with the prescribed court fee. The court fee is based on the value of the claim.

Acknowledgment of the complaint: The consumer court will issue an acknowledgment of the complaint and provide a date for the first hearing.

Hearing: At the hearing, both parties will present their case and produce evidence in support of their claims. The consumer court will then issue a judgment.

It is recommended that you consult with a lawyer to guide you through the legal process and ensure that all the necessary steps are taken properly.

Additionally, it is important to note that before filing a case in a consumer court, it is advisable to try to resolve the issue through negotiation or mediation with the opposite party.
